Before, during and after the Christmas season, Philips Consumer Lifestyle offered passengers at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol a unique experience: The Philips ‘Gift of Innovation’. A selection of the latest Philips product innovations was made available for consumers to touch & try at the dedicated Philips Booth in the airport’s ‘Lounge 1’.

Hostesses were available to help passengers discover the unique features and benefits of the showcased products, while continuous product demonstrations were given from 7am in the morning until 8pm at night. For many passengers it was the first time to experience products such as Philips’ AirFryer, SensoTouch Steam Iron and Philips HUE. Products usually not available at an airport, but hugely appreciated by passengers that finally had the opportunity to physically discover these innovations.

Many of the products could be purchased at the nearby CAPI electronics store and iPads integrated into the Philips booth enabled passengers to order the products online and have them delivered straight to their home address.

Research conducted during- and after the airport activation indicated a strong effect on all major brand drivers & a significant increase of the intent to purchase the demonstrated products upon arrival home.
